2006 ‘Alexander Munro’ Shiraz – Aged Release
‘Alexander Munro’ Shiraz is our flagship wine and made from the best parcel of shiraz fruit we receive each year.
2007 ‘Alexander Munro’ Shiraz – Aged Release
2007 has proven itself as a great Hunter Valley shiraz vintage. Very low yields following on from the very hot 2006 vintage, ripened easily with only minor storm activity towards harvest. As a whole, 2007 vintage Hunter shirazes have an inherent completeness about them making them very approachable upon release, but also have the structure to reward cellaring.
2014 ‘Black’ Shiraz
BLACK was originally meant to be a one-off commemorative wine, the thinking being 2011 was a fantastic Shiraz vintage which coincided with our 20th release. 2014 came along and made us reconsider. 2014 just had to produce a BLACK.
2015 ‘Indie’ Shiraz Pinot
This wine has a lovely crimson colour with fragrances of red berries and strawberries. The palate is medium-bodied, supple and nicely balanced. Tannins and oak play a minor role.
2015 ‘indie’ Pinot Noir
Although we have made small amounts of Pinot Noir from the ‘Lochleven’ Vineyard to blend with Shiraz, this is the first 100% Pinot Noir we have made and released.
2016 ‘Terracotta’ Syrah
Excess rainfall in 2015 prevented a release of ‘Hell Hole’ , ‘Terracotta’ and ‘Alexander Munro’ Shiraz, so 2016 was a welcome relief. Whilst not completely trouble free, the Valley’s older vineyards, with their deep roots produced high quality grapes if well managed. 2016 will be termed a ‘classic’ vintage.
2016 ’Hell Hole’ Shiraz
With far too much rainfall in 2015 to release a ‘Hell Hole’ Shiraz, or ‘Terracotta’ and ‘Alexander Munro’ for that matter, 2016 was a welcome relief. Not a completely trouble free vintage, but more typical and quite manageable. The old-vines again proving their worth.
