2012 ‘Alexander Munro’ Semillon

No Shiraz was harvested by us in 2012 and only a couple of parcels of Chardonnay and Semillon. The reason Semillon is so successful in the Hunter Valley is its ability to handle a wide range of weather conditions. The best Semillons are made in the cooler years, and 2012 was certainly that. The class of the ‘Braemore’ vineyard was apparent in delivering grapes that weren’t just usable, but also very high quality.

2013 was a warm dry Hunter Valley vintage after the very wet 2012. Vines were very low yielding, but in return produced amazingly flavoured fruit.

2015 BEBEAH Semillon

BEBEAH was Alexander Munro’s vineyard and winery at Singleton. He planted the vines in the mid 1800s and went on to be a very successful vigneron. This is the first time the BEBEAH label has been used in over a hundred years.

2015 Late Harvest Semillon

A great nose that oozes candied stone-fruits and honeydew melon aromas. The palate is plush with sweet mouth-filling ripe fruit flavours. A nice line of acidity keeps the palate fresh and lively.

White grape varieties did very well in 2016 across the spectrum. Aided by early ripening and light yields, the worst of the rain was avoided, with high quality the result.

Very pale to light straw in colour, the nose is citrus dominant, with lemon scents and lime zest. The palate has a linear focus based on superfine acidity supporting citrus fruits. A zesty mouthfeel with great persistence of flavour.

2017 ‘XYZ’ Rosé

A lovely salmon pink in colour, the nose shows confectionary strawberry, rose petal and raspberries. The palate copies the nose with a strawberry and cream lingering flavour. This is neither a sweet nor a dry Rosé and will suit many tastes.
